Coverage of Examinations
The September 2025 LET introduced updated exam structures: Elementary had two parts—General Education (40%) and Professional Education (60%)—while Elementary with Specialization and Secondary levels included three parts: General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%), and Specialization (40%).
The exam covers core General Education subjects and a wide range of Professional Education areas such as teaching profession, curriculum development, educational technology, assessment, and practice teaching.
Specialization subjects now include Early Childhood Education and Special Needs Education for Elementary, and various fields for Secondary such as English, Math, Science, Social Studies, MAPEH, and TLE (Agriculture, Industrial Arts, Home Economics, ICT) as well as Values Education. These updated specializations follow the amendment to the Teacher Professionalization Act of 1994, marking the first major LET reform in 30 years and aligning the exam with modern teacher training programs.
