MANILA, Philippines – Filipina tennis star Alex Eala heads into the 2026 US Open riding the momentum of a breakthrough North American hard-court swing that saw her win her maiden WTA singles title and continue her rise in the world rankings.
Eala reached a new career-high No. 18 in the WTA live rankings during the Cincinnati Open and enters the US Open as one of the rising stars of women's tennis.
The 21-year-old's Cincinnati campaign ended in the Round of 32 after a three-set loss to world No. 10 Amanda Anisimova, but she enters New York after a summer that also included her historic title run in Washington and a Round of 16 finish at the Canadian Open.
The US Open offers Eala another opportunity to make a deep Grand Slam run and further strengthen her position among the world's elite.
