MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) announced on Monday, October 6, 2025, the opening of applications for the 2026 Undergraduate Scholarship Program.

DOST Scholarship 2026: Online Application Form, Requirements, and Step-by-Step Guide

The Science and Technology (S&T) Undergraduate Scholarships Program aims to encourage talented Filipino youth to pursue productive careers in science and technology and ensure a steady supply of qualified professionals who can help advance the nation’s development.

Application Schedule

  • Start of Online Application: October 20, 2025
  • Deadline of Application: November 21, 2025
  • Qualifying Examination Date: February 21–22, 2026

Where to Apply?

Applications must be submitted online through the DOST-SEI E-Application System, which will open on October 20, 2025. The Summit Express will provide the link here once available.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Graduating Grade 12 students in SY 2025–2026:
    • STEM Strand: All students belonging to the STEM class
    • Non-STEM Strand: Must belong to the top 5% of the graduating class
  • Graduates of Grade 12 before SY 2025–2026 who have not yet enrolled in college:
    • STEM Strand: All STEM graduates
    • Non-STEM Strand: Must belong to the top 5% of the class
  • Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen
  • Must be of good moral character and in good health
  • May have applied previously but did not qualify or avail of the DOST-SEI scholarship
  • Must not have earned any post-secondary (college or vocational) units

Types of Scholarship

RA 7687 (Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994)

For academically talented students from economically disadvantaged families who plan to pursue degrees in the basic sciences, engineering, applied sciences, and science and mathematics teaching.

Merit Scholarship

For students with high aptitude in science and mathematics, regardless of family income, who are willing to pursue careers in science and technology.

Scholarship Privileges

  • Clothing allowance (1st semester of the 1st year only)

Note: *One actual economy class round trip fare per academic year from the permanent residence of the Scholar to the place of study outside his/her home province/region and vice-versa. (Reimbursement shall be made at the start and end of academic year only)

Information to Prepare Before Filing Your E-Application

Before starting your online application, gather the following household and financial information:

Household Income

  • Father’s annual gross income
  • Mother’s annual gross income
  • Spouse’s annual gross income (if married)
  • Legal guardian’s annual gross income (if legal guardian is supporting the applicant)

Financial Contributions

If your family receives support from other sources, specify:

  • Name of the contributor
  • Annual amount of contribution
  • Purpose of the contribution

Agricultural Land

If your family owns agricultural land, indicate the size in hectares.

Vehicle Information

If your family owns a vehicle, indicate:

  • Type (e.g., tricycle, passenger jeep, owner jeep, car, van)

  • Form E1: Principal’s Certification – Applicant is a Grade 12 STEM Strand student (Graduating/Graduated)
  • Form E2: Principal’s Certification – Applicant is a Grade 12 Non-STEM Strand student (Graduating/Graduated and belongs to the upper 5%)
  • Form E3: Principal’s Certification – Applicant is under Homeschool Program
  • Form E4: Principal’s Certification – Applicant is under the Alternative Learning System (ALS)
  • Form F: Certificate of Residency
  • Form G: Parent’s Certification that the applicant has no pending immigration application to another country
  • Form H: DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination/Award Information
  • Form I: Applicant’s Certification of No Post-Secondary Units
  • Form J: Signed Declaration of the Applicant and Parent/Legal Guardian

Note: For the Principal’s Certification, select the form that applies from the four available options.

  • Birth Certificate (PSA/NSO)
  • Proof of Income (ITR, Certificate of Indigency, etc.)

Reminders: Print all forms on A4 size bond paper, ensure all signatures are present, label each file properly, and upload clear, viewable files to avoid disqualification.

Step-by-Step Guide to the DOST Scholarship E-Application

Step 1: Register

Visit the official website https://www.science-scholarships.ph and register using a valid email address. You will receive a verification email to activate your account.

Step 2: Fill Out the Modules

Complete all modules, including:

  • Personal Data
  • Contact Information
  • Family Data
  • Financial Contributions
  • Household Information Questionnaire
  • School Details
  • Upload Documents

The system accepts .jpeg, .png, .bmp, and .pdf files up to 5MB per upload. Use the Preview feature to check if your uploaded files are correct and readable.

Step 3: Review and Submit

Ensure that all modules are correctly filled out and all required documents uploaded before clicking SUBMIT. Once submitted, your application can no longer be edited.

Step 4: Choose Your Test Center

Eligible applicants will be able to select their test center preference (near permanent address, current address, or school). Once submitted, this selection is final.

What Happens Next?

1. Issuance of Test Permit

Eligible applicants will receive a Test Permit indicating the test center, session, and other details. This will be available for download by December 2025 via the E-Application System.

2. Announcement of Scholarship Qualifiers

Results of the scholarship examination will be announced tentatively in May 2026 through the DOST-SEI website (sei.dost.gov.ph).

Qualifiers will also receive a Notice of Award via email with instructions for the Orientation and Signing of the Scholarship Agreement.

3. Effectivity of Scholarship

The scholarship award will take effect in the First Semester of Academic Year 2026–2027.

Previous DOST Scholarship Exams

In the 2025 DOST Scholarship Examination, a total of 10,907 students out of 84,518 test-takers successfully passed, representing 12.90% of examinees.

A total of 95,654 students were eligible to take the exam, and 84,518 graduating senior high school students participated on April 5 and 6, 2025, across 215 testing centers nationwide.

The results of the 2025 examination were officially released on June 30, 2025.
