MANILA, Philippines – Classes on Thursday, July 17, 2025, have been cancelled in some areas due to Tropical Depression Crising and southwest monsoon or “habagat”.

Tropical Depression Crising maintains its strength while moving northwestward over the Sea East of Bicol region.

At 4:00 AM on Thursday, the center of Bagyong Crising was estimated based on all available data at 535 km East of Juban, Sorsogon. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h, and central pressure of 1000 hPa.

Tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) No. 1 is currently in effect in Luzon areas: Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, the northeastern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao), Quirino, Kalinga, the eastern portion of Mountain Province (Sadanga, Barlig, Paracelis, Natonin), the eastern portion of Ifugao (Alfonso Lista, Aguinaldo, Mayoyao, Banaue, Hingyon, Lagawe, Lamut), the northeastern portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Kasibu, Quezon, Bagabag, Diadi) and Apayao.
