What could have been a day of celebration turned into a day of mourning for the family of Lyrah Jade Bernardino. Just a day after passing the board exam, Lyrah suffered a tragic motorcycle accident that ultimately led to her death.


Lyrah's family and friends are in shock and grieving with her untimely passing. Her sister, Leylah Jazil Bernardino shared how painful the unfortunate incident was for her and their family.

Posting photos of Lyrah and her online, she wrote, "Ate, ate sorry. Sorry ate. Hindi ko ineexpect yung ganito. Mahal na mahal kita ate alam mo yan kahit aso’t pusa tayo. Ate tulungan mo kaming tanggapin to. Ate, mahal na mahal kita ate. Patawad ate. Ang sakit ate ko. Wala na hindi na maibabalik. Hinding hindi ka namin makakalimutan ate. Until we meet again, I love you my only sis."

The friends and family of Lyrah Bernardino are still in shock and disbelief with the tragedy.

On Thursday, Lyrah, who also happened to be a SK chairperson, had replied to a flood of messages of congratulations from her friends and family after she passed the Criminology board exam.

Charri-lyn Pascual, a friend of Lyrah, is also in disbelief and wished that she may rest in peace.

She wrote, "Rest in peace SK chairman Lyrah Jade Bernardino. Mamimis ka namin wala na kaming lady raider sa Amianan. Naghihintay pa naman ako ng libre mo kasi nakapasa ka na. Ang dami mo pang pangarap sa buhay pero sa isang iglap nawala ang lahat. Kung saan ka man ngayon alam namin masaya ka na. Lagi mong gabayan yung pamilya mo. Hanggang sa muling pagkikita kaibigan…"

City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDDRMO) Report

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDDRMO) of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija reported a vehicular accident on January 9 (Thursday).

According to their report, a phone call was received from a certain Evnes Dawang informing them of a vehicular accident between a tricycle and a motorcycle at Maharlika Highway, Brgy. Bantug, Science City of Muñoz.

"A rescue team immediately responded and applied first aid to a 56-year-old male victim from Brgy. Maligaya. He suffered from massive leg injury and head injury."

"A 25-year-old female from Brgy. Maligaya suffered from minor scratches on her elbow and would on forehead (left side). Another 20-year-old female of Sto. Domingo, she suffered massive head injury and fracture at right leg and fracture left arm. All victims were transported and properly endorsed to Heart of Jesus Hospital San Jose City."
