UP Manila announces guidelines for August 3-4, 2013 UPCAT examinees

University of the Philippines - Manila announced guidelines for the upcoming UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) for AY 2014-2015 to be held on August 3-4, 2013.

Issued notice via Twitter by the Information Publication and Public Affairs Office (IPPAO) advised examinees assigned to UP Manila only.

UP Manila said that examination venues are College of Public Health (CPH), College of Medicine (CM) and College of Dentistry(CD) of UP Manila, Pedro Gil Street, Ermita, Manila.

Examinees are advised to use CPH Gate as Entrance to UPH and exit via CM Gate.

For morning examinations, assembly time is 6:00 to 6:30am while those taking the afternoon exams are to assemble from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Examinees were also advised for possible heavy traffic in and around Ermita, Manila.

" If there is any re-routing to be made, we will announce it as soon as we get the data from the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB).", UP Manila said.

A map will be released next week at www.upm.edu.ph. Signage will also be put up by the MTPB to guide examinees.

Where to Park?
  • No parking on Padre Faura Street and Pedro Gil Street. Your car will be towed away.
  • Safe parking  (with fee; guarded by MTPB officers): Guerrero St., Ma. Orosa St., Bocobo St. and Adriatico St.
  • Safe parking (with fee): Robinson's Place-Ermita Parking Lot (starting 10:00am)

It was also advised that examinees should not leave expensive gadgets, bags, money
and trinkets on their car to avoid becoming a crime victim. Do not wear expensive jewelry and watches. Keep wallet and mobile phones in an ordinary bag.

What to bring on UPCAT day?
  • Test permit
  • Mongol No. 2 pencils (sharpened already)
  • sharpener and eraser
  • snacks (examinees are allowed to eat and drink during exams)
  • light sweater (all rooms have air conditioners)
