'The Voice of the Philippines' Top 52 artists named

'The Voice of the Philippines', the top-rating weekly singing-contest of ABS-CBN named the Top 52 artists who advanced to the next round. There are 52 out of 120 contestants who performed during the 'blind auditions' that will join 'The Battle Rounds'.

By default, each of the judge-mentors (Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Mañalac, Lea Salonga and Apl.de.ap) should have 12 artists in his/her team (Top 48 as reported before) but they've decided to add one more contestant each to improve their line up of artists.

The Blind Auditions was taped in just 4 days from April 15- 18, 2013 held at Studio 2 of ABS-CBN. Last June 15, 2013, ABS-CBN aired 'The Voice of the Philippines' premiere with blind auditions kick-off. For several weeks, list of artists per coach is filled one-by-one.

"Four days filled with laughter and lightness, and incredible life stories, but more than anything else, it was all about heavy-hitting talent. It truly was all about “The Voice.” ", Lea Salonga said.

Thor Dulay, a 32-year-old back-up singer to comedian Vice Ganda, was faced with a tough decision on who to pick among the four superstar-coaches of "The Voice of the Philippines" after impressing them with his rendition of the Whitney Houston hit "I Have Nothing." He got the first 4-chair turn on 'The Voice PH'.

Lee Grane, a 29-year-old professional singer from Makati City, became the No. 1 trending topic worldwide on Twitter Saturday night, after moving "The Voice of the Philippines" coaches Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo Mañalac to tears with her back-to-back performances for her Blind Auditions bid.


June 23, 2013

Michaellen Temporada, a registered nurse, wowed all four coaches of "The Voice of the Philippines," with his performance of the classic Broadway number "Summertime" from the musical "Porgy and Bess." He is the second 4-chair turner on 'The Voice'.

The Voice of the Philippines" coaches Lea Salonga and Bamboo Mañalac put up a fight to recruit artist Mitoy Yonting, whose Blind Auditions performance convinced the 2-chair turn during Saturday's episode of the reality talent search.

Don Michael Perez, 22-year-old former music student from  Palawan performed an amazing rendition of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" that made another 4-chair turn from the respected coaches.

The battle of the coaches to get artist for their team is intense on Saturday, July 20 episode of the hit singing contest of ABS-CBN,  'The Voice of the Philippines'. Klarisse de Guzman, the sixth 4-chair turner during the 'Blind Auditions' creates clash between Sarah Geronimo and Apl de Ap.

The Voice Ph Battle Rounds and Live Shows Coming Up

The Voice PH 'Battle Rounds' starts July 28!

In the 'Battle Rounds', two artists are mentored and then developed by their respective coach. The coaches of the team will "dedicate themselves to developing their artists, giving them advice, and sharing the secrets of their success in the music industry". Every member of their team battle against another member from their team. They sing the same song simultaneously, while their coach decides who should continue in the competition. The coaches have to choose from the four individual “battles” to take artists to the live round.

Meanwhile, it's already confirmed that the 'Live Shows' will be held in Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila, Newport City, Pasay City.

The new and authentic singing contest of ABS-CBN runs from 40-55 minutes every Saturdays (9 p.m.) and Sundays (8:15 p.m).
