MANILA, Philippines – Actress Andi Eigenmann confirmed the passing of her mother Mary Jane Guck professionally known as Jaclyn Jose at the age of 60.
In a press conference on Monday afternoon, March 4, Andi delivered a statement revealing the cause of her mother’s sudden death.
“I announce the untimely passing of my Nanay, Mary Jane Guck, better known as Jaclyn Jose. At the age of 60, on the morning of March 2nd, 2024, due to myocardial infarction or heart attack,” the actress stated.
The celebrity mom also expressed gratitude to everyone who sent their sympathies and wishes for her family.
“We would like to thank everyone who has since extended their prayers and condolences to us as our family is trying to come to terms at this unfortunate incident,” she emotionally said.
Andi requested everyone to provide them the respect and privacy to grieve. She also hoped that her statement would “put all speculations to rest.”
“Please provide us the respect and privacy to breathe and we hope this would put all speculations to rest.”
The sad news on Jaclyn's passing surfaced on the evening of March 3. It was later confirmed by PPL Entertainment Inc. in an statement shared on Instagram.
The multi-awarded verteran actress has made groundbreaking contributions to the entertainment industry which spanned across several films and television series throughout the years.
Jaclyn made history by winning the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival for her role in Brillante Mendoza’s Ma’ Rosa, where she played the title role of Rosa, a mother with four children who tried to make ends meet for her family.
