During the preliminaries, Beatrice was also awarded as Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown. She also bagged special awards Miss Luxxe Immunplus Game Changer and Miss Cream Silk.

The 26-year-old beauty queen also made history as the first openly out member of the LGBTQ+ community to win the title. During the Miss Universe Philippines Interview challenge, she admitted being in a 6-year relationship with her girlfriend, Kate Jagdon. In her interviews, she revealed that she started to get attracted to both sexes while growing up.

Beatrice has been a strong contender because of her experience in the pageant scene. Back in 2015, she won 2nd runner up in the Miss Mandaue. In January 2020, she represented San Fernando town and bagged the Binibining Cebu title. Coincidentally, Beatrice was crowned by the reigning queen at the time, Steffi Rose Aberasturi, who she eventually ended up competing against in the recent Miss Universe Philippines 2021.

Aside from pageantry, Beatrice has been active in sports and modeling. She enjoys playing volleyball and scuba diving. She also sweats it out with a few rounds of boxing and MMA. Beatrice advocacy is youth empowerment through sports.

She is also a proud cat owner to a Pusang Pinoy named Twix. On Instagram, Beatrice shares photos of her "baby" and admits she is "obsessed" with Twix, whom she adopted with her girlfriend Kate during the height of the pandemic.

To prove that she's not just a softie, Beatrice even underwent the basic citizens military course training that would allow her to be part of the Philippine Navy Reserve Unit back in January 2021.

She earlier explained her decision to become a reservist saying, "Someone once asked me why I chose to serve the military when I can join other organizations if all I wanted was to help others. The uniform teaches us discipline and character and most importantly the value of modesty. I chose to be part of a family where we show up even if no one is watching."

She also became active in participating in the community service initiatives of the local government of Cebu. Feeding the hungry and those in need, Beatrice found the task very fulfilling.

The beauty queen stated, "When I used to work for an LGU here in Cebu, I always found social service as the most fulfilling and least exhausting task to accomplish. In a time when most of us seem to be insatiable, being with the most vulnerable sectors of the community made me grateful even for the smallest blessings."

Prior to the Miss Universe Philippines competition, Beatrice participated in a charity fun run and finished her first 42km for the benefit of children affected by the armed conflict in Negros.

The Filipino model also inspired many other women to stand up and not be a damsel in distress waiting for a man. She said that it's best for women to empower themselves to be able to take control of their lives.

Beatrice's lengthy quote on Women's Day goes, "It’s time to be honest to young girls that when life challenges you, there isn’t going to be a knight in shining armor to come for rescue. It’s time that we tell them that marrying a man isn’t an escape route from poverty. Stop telling them to be a good cook because that is what men are looking for in a woman or wash the plates for men because that is what makes a good wife."

"The skills of a woman should be for herself. In the game of chess, the queen holds greater power and control over the king. Beautiful girl, don’t ever let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do," she added.

The upcoming 70th Miss Universe pageant will be held in December in Eilat, Israel.
