MANILA, Philippines – Netizens are debating whether or not Rudy Baldwin was able to predict the strong earthquake that hit Batangas and nearby provinces on Saturday, July 24.
The controversial psychic reader became a trending topic on Saturday just hours after the 6.6 magnitude earthquake that occured at 4:48 a.m. According to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the epicenter was 16 kilometers southwest of Calatagan, Batangas and was tectonic in nature.
Many claimed that the recent event had been predicted by Baldwin. On June 3, she mentioned the occurrence of strong earthquake in Batangas.
"ALAM KO NA MARAMI NG LINDOL ANG YUMANIG SA BATANGAS. NGUNIT SA VISION LAHAT NG LINDOL NA DINANAS NG BATANGAS MAY DALAWANG LINDOL NA NGAYON LANG MARANASAN NG BATANGAS ANG LAKAS."
One of the many visions that Baldwin shared that many of her followers hold true is the sinkhole in Batangas. Last July 12, she posted her Batangas vision where she specifically described the existence of a sinkhole and the occurrence of earthquakes.

On Saturday morning, photos of a sinkhole appeared in Brgy. Laguile, Taal, Batangas circulated online. This came after residents experienced two quakes that morning.
While Baldwin continues to feel the support of her followers, there are those who continue to throw criticisms against her calling her a fraud.
She defended her predictions on earthquakes and advised the public to pray harder. She also revealed that the earthquakes that we are experiencing are still not the "Big One" that she described during her interview with Korina Sanchez last year.
