MANILA, Philippines – Ranking second in the November 2020 Physician Licensure Exams, Adrian Emmanuel Teves wowed netizens who learned that he was also the Top 2 in the 2014 Physical Therapy Board Exams!

Teves earned a rating of 88.58 percent, according to data released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). This new doctor is the son of Mayor Pryde Henry Teves from Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.

This brilliant young man completed his degree in medicine from the University of Santo Tomas School of Medicine. He graduated as summa cum laude in 2019. With the high marks he obtained at med school, many were already expecting that he would be among the topnotchers of the licensure exam.

But he’s no stranger to being a topnotcher. In fact, he had also ranked in second place when he took the Physical Therapy Board Exams back in August 2014. The aspiring doctor graduated as magna cum laude with a degree in Physical Therapy from Silliman University’s Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences that year!

Netizens commented that it is already hard enough to pass either the Physical Therapy Board Exams or the Physician Licensure Exams but passing both and ranking second each time is truly an amazing feat! Congratulations, Dr. Adrian Emmanuel Teves.

The new doctor from Negros Oriental shares the second spot with another student from the same island, Patrick Joseph Mabugat who graduated from the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

Teves’ story is similar to that of Jomel Garcia Lapides, the Top 1 in the November 2020 Physician Licensure Exams who was also the Top 1 in the 2011 Nursing Licensure Exams.
