MANILA, Philippines – Jomel Garcia Lapides of the University of the Philippines - Manila earned the highest spot in the November 2020 Physician Licensure Exams (PLE). Lapides successfully hurdled the 2020 PLE given earlier this month with a rating of 88.67 percent. With that score, the graduate of the University of the Philippines-Manila bested more than 3,500 medical students who passed the exams; a total of 4,704 took the test.

But the PLE topnotcher truly wowed everyone who learned that this is not the first time that he ranked first in the board exams which are given and ranked on a national level. Back in July 2011, Lapides also ranked first in the NLE with a rating of 88.40 percent.

The impressive feat has gone viral, with many netizens calling him a genius and wishing that he would become an inspiration to many students.

There were also a lot of netizens who are saying that it would be great if Lapides will join the government as the Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH), though others are pointing out that he’s probably going to serve the people as a doctor to directly save their lives.

Other netizens joked that Lapides should also try becoming a lawyer because he might also become Top #1 in the Bar Exams.
