MANILA, Philippines – Last May 27, Richard Claros and Kriza Onipa lost their 4-month-old baby Angelo during a boat ride from Cebu to Manila. The baby was alright when they boarded the boat but died just about an hour shy of reaching the port. The couple has blamed the doctor’s negligence in a post that has gone viral on social media.

True enough, the veteran broadcaster was able to connect the couple to the right people who can help them out of their situation. It was revealed in the show that the company, 2GO, had offered the couple Php20,000 as compensation for their late child’s passing.

Tulfo slammed the company for the insulting offer, and he didn’t hesitate to tell 2GO’s Head of Corporate Communication, Jovy Santos, his sentiments on the matter. The latter promised help for the grieving parents and revealed that the doctor has since been suspended, pending further investigation.

Santos agreed to meet with the couple, together with representatives from Tulfo in Action; however, before the scheduled meeting, he was allegedly instructed by 2GO’s legal department to stop commenting about the issue with the media and to only let the couple meet them, sans the Tulfo in Action staff.

Seeing this as a major roadblock in situation, Tulfo brought the matter to Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher “Bong” Go’s attention. Thanks to Go and Tulfo, the mourning parents were able to finally meet with 2GO alongside Tulfo in Action staff.

Aside from providing them an undisclosed amount of money as financial assistance, the company has also promised to help them seek legal action against the doctor who has been terminated from the company.

Baby Angelo’s parents said they were satisfied with 2GO’s action on the matter and thanked Tulfo for his help in helping them find justice for their son.
