Tropical Depression Luis weather forecast
As of the latest PAGASA bulletin, Tropical Depression Luis slightly accelerated while moving over the coastal waters of Divilacan, Isabela.
The tropical cyclone has maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 60 km/h, and a central pressure of 1002 hPa.

Areas under TCWS No. 1 may experience strong winds ranging from 39 to 61 km/h within the next 36 hours, posing a minimal to minor threat to life and property.
Track and intensity outlook
PAGASA said Luis will continue moving generally northwestward and may make landfall or pass close to the coast of Cagayan or Isabela this afternoon or evening. Afterward, the tropical depression is forecast to make a sharp turn toward the east-northeast as it moves away from the Philippine landmass.
Luis is expected to remain a tropical depression for most of the forecast period before weakening into a remnant low by Wednesday, August 5. The system is then forecast to be fully absorbed into the circulation of Tropical Cyclone Dolphin.
Automatic Class Suspensions
The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued new guidelines under DepEd Order No. 14, s. 2026, empowering school heads to coordinate with Schools Division Superintendents and Local Government Units in determining CLASS SUSPENSIONS based on actual conditions in their communities.
The new policy allows for granular class suspensions, ensuring that only affected classrooms or grade levels are suspended when necessary, instead of imposing division-wide cancellations. The measure also provides guidance on selecting appropriate learning delivery modes before, during and after emergencies to help maintain continuity of education.
