MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) is expected to officially release the full results of the DOST Scholarship Exam for Academic Year 2026–2027 in May 2026. The complete list of passers will be available here once announced online.
"The results of the 2026 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Examination are expected to be released in May 2026," the agency confirmed in an article on April 20.
DOST-SEI announced that a total of 97,617 high school students took the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Examination on February 21 and 22, and March 7 and 8 across 222 testing centers nationwide. To date, this is the highest number of examinees for one of the country’s most competitive qualifying examinations.
Luzon accounted for the majority of examinees, with 57,951 hopefuls. Meanwhile, the Visayas and Mindanao regions recorded 21,227 and 18,439 examinees, respectively.
Extending beyond the Philippine archipelago, 48 aspiring scholars are scheduled to take the examination in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a later date.
The Institute said it will accommodate only 8,500 incoming first-year students (8.71% of examinees) for Fiscal Year 2026 due to budget limitations. Successful examinees will become part of the DOST-SEI scholar community, which currently consists of 48,520 undergraduate scholars, 4,414 master’s scholars, 1,438 doctoral scholars, and 329 foreign graduate scholars.

The qualifiers will receive their Notice of Award, while the potential qualifiers will receive advice on the requirements they must resubmit. After which, all the qualifiers, with their parents/legal guardians, are invited to attend the orientation on S&T Scholarship Policies and Procedures.

Benefits
Qualifiers who will avail of the scholarship will enjoy benefits for the duration of their S&T degree program, which include the following:
- Monthly stipend of ₱8,000
- Tuition fee subsidies of up to ₱40,000 per academic year for those enrolled in private universities and colleges
- Learning materials and/or connectivity allowance of ₱10,000 per academic year
- One-time clothing allowance of ₱1,000
- One economy-class roundtrip fare per year for scholars who will outside their home provinces
- Thesis allowance of ₱10,000
- Graduation allowance of ₱1,000
- Premium group accident and health insurance
- Research dissemination grant of up to ₱50,000, which scholars may apply for, subject to evaluation and approval for those who will present their research at conferences and/or publish in technical journals
Qualifiers must enroll in a BS program in a priority S&T field at a state university or a Commission on Higher Education (CHED)-recognized or Level III-accredited private institution. The list of priority S&T programs can be found on the DOST-SEI website: www.sei.dost.gov.ph.
Responsibilities of DOST scholars
DOST-SEI scholars are required to render service in the country preferably along their fields of specialization after graduation for a period equivalent to the number of years they enjoyed the scholarship as a return service.
SEI maintains its resolve that this strategy allows the country’s industries to have “the best minds” to do their services and products.
Previous Exams
In the 2025 DOST Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship Program, the DOST-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) named 10,907 qualifiers out of 84,518 examinees, equivalent to a 12.90% passing rate.
In 2024, a total of 10,756 students qualified for the DOST S&T Undergraduate Scholarship Program out of 89,510 examinees nationwide.
In the 2023 DOST S&T Undergraduate Scholarship Program, DOST-SEI announced 9,776 qualifiers from 79,585 examinees.
For the 2022 DOST Undergraduate Scholarship Program, the agency named 10,487 successful qualifiers.
