MANILA, Philippines – Several local government units (LGUs) have announced the suspension of classes on Friday, October 10, 2025, following a magnitude 7.5 earthquake that struck offshore Davao Oriental.

Shortly after the earthquake, Phivolcs issued a tsunami warning for several eastern coastal provinces, cautioning residents of destructive tsunami waves exceeding one meter above normal tide levels.
Communities in the following provinces were strongly advised to evacuate immediately to higher grounds or move farther inland:
