At 37, Dei continues to embody lifelong learning, turning challenges into milestones of success through faith, discipline, and hard work. He exclusively shared his inspiring story with The Summit Express, offering a glimpse into the perseverance that shaped his success abroad.
His love for learning started early—he graduated First Honor at Simbahan Central Elementary School and Valedictorian at Jolo Agricultural School in Sulu, signaling his academic promise.
Dei now works as a registered nurse in Finland while holding four professional Philippine licenses: Registered Nurse (2014), Registered Midwife (2024), Licensed Professional Teacher (2019, via Special Professional Licensure Exam or SPLE), and Registered Psychometrician (2025).
He also holds international credentials as a Ministry Registered Nurse in Kuwait (2014) and a Registered Nurse in Finland (2024).
Dei’s academic portfolio includes two master’s degrees—Master of Science in Nursing (Nursing Informatics) and Master of Arts in Education (Educational Management)—earned while balancing full-time work abroad.
He likewise earned a Bachelor of Healthcare in Nursing from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Finland, broadening his perspective on global patient care and health systems.
“Lumaki ako na may maraming pagsubok, tulad ng financial struggles at pagiging malayo sa pamilya, pero naging inspirasyon ko ‘yon para magsikap at magtagumpay.”
Before relocating to Finland, Dei made history as the first Filipino Nursing Informatics Specialist at Kuwait Hospital and served as President of the Teacher-Specialist Organization in Kuwait (TSOK) and Vice President of the Philippine Professional Organization (PPO) in Kuwait.
His work in nursing informatics, teaching, and community leadership has been recognized through volunteer lecturing with the Philippine Nursing Association in Kuwait (PNAK) and through local and international professional roles.
“Failures taught me to be patient, persistent, and humble,” Dei said, underscoring how setbacks shaped his resilience and growth.
Dei’s inspiring journey has been featured in two books—A River of Teas in the Valley of Triumph and Superheroes in Scrub Suits—which celebrate Filipino professionals making an impact in the Gulf and Arab countries.
