Under the Constitution, the Chief Executive is mandated to report the state of the country, unveil the government’s agenda for the coming year, and may also propose to Congress certain legislative measures every fourth Monday of July.

President Marcos' SONA will last for more than an hour, according to Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Monday morning.

RELATED SONA STORIES

The PCO said President Marcos' decision to take a chopper to the Batasang Pambansa for his SONA this afternoon will still depend on the weather.

SONA 2025 will be available through special coverage and livestream video on state-run PTV, Presidential Communications Facebook page and Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM) Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Similar to previous years, RTVM will be directing BBM's fourth SONA.

Other media outlets and major news organizations such as ABS-CBN, GMA-7, and TV5 are expected to rely on the centralized livestream coverage provided by the government’s communications office.

During a Kapihan sa Media in Washington D.C. last week, President Marcos said his fourth SONA would be different from his past speeches.

''You have to remember it’s the State of the Nation Address. And the state of the nation today is different from what it was last year and the year before that,'' Marcos said.

Other things to expect on Marcos' SONA 2025

Initially, House Spokesperson Princess Abante said that about 2,000 guests were expected, similar to last year. However, Rep. Janette Garin (Iloilo, 1st District) later confirmed that attendance would be scaled down in light of the current circumstances.

Award-winning tenor Sofronio Vasquez, the first Filipino and first male Asian to win The Voice in the U.S., will lead the singing of the Philippine national anthem.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said they are in full alert and will deploy around 23,000 police personnel to ensure safety coverage in Batasan complex.

The full text of President Marcos' speech called the "President's Report to the People" will be available online shortly after the Chief Executive has spoken or around 6:00 p.m.

Marcos’ first SONA lasted 1 hour and 14 minutes, followed by a second address that ran for 1 hour and 11 minutes. His third SONA was the longest so far, clocking in at 1 hour and 22 minutes.
