“Diploma or Hustle? A testament of God’s faithfulness in my life… a dream 15 years in the making,” she wrote in the caption of her post.

“Sharing with you my story of finishing my undergraduate degree after all these years,” she added.

Joyce shared that even as a child, she had always loved learning. For her, reading became an escape into different worlds, her teachers served as parental figures, and schools were places of peace and comfort.

She graduated as salutatorian in grade school, earned a spot at the prestigious Quezon City Science High School, and was later accepted into her dream university as a government scholar, or “Iska,” as they fondly call it.

However, life took a difficult turn when her family faced financial and personal instability. She had to stop her studies and start working to help support her family.

For the next 13 years, Joyce said God placed her in the media industry, where she was able to use her talents to earn a living. She became a TV and radio anchor and host, most notably for GMA Network. Through her work, her family was able to regain financial stability.

In 2023, her manager and mentor, “Mama Betchay,” encouraged her to return to school, believing in her potential. Joyce agreed and decided to keep her return to academics a secret while working on her studies in silence.

Now, after successfully passing her thesis, Joyce has officially graduated and proudly reaps the “fruit of her labor.”

She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people who supported and inspired her throughout her journey—especially her husband, Kapuso actor Juancho Triviño.

Congratulations, Joyce!
