MANILA, Philippines – Senator Christopher "Bong" Go is leading the Senate race in the May 12 elections, based on the first wave of partial and unofficial results on Monday night.
Go, who is seeking re-election in the 2025 Philippine midterm elections under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP), garnered 16,849,762 votes as of 8:44 p.m. Monday with 49.73% of election returns (ERs) transmitted.
Former senator Bam Aquino is at second place with 13,938,964 votes, while re-electionist Bato dela Rosa came in third with 12,804,689 votes.
Other candidates who made it to the "Magic 12" included Erwin Tulfo, Kiko Pangilinan, Ping Lacson, Tito Sotto, Rodante Marcoleta, Pia Cayetano, Camille Villar, Imee Marcos, and Lito Lapid.
Placing 13th, 14th and 15th are Ben Tulfo, Bong Revilla, and Abby Binay.
The official canvassing of votes for senatorial candidates and party-list will be done by the Comelec, sitting as National Board of Canvassers.
