Alden earned a score of 90.60 percent and was among the topnotchers out of 11,098 who passed the exam.

In an episode of Eat Bulaga’s “Bawal Judgmental” segment on January 25, 2023, Alden shared that he was only influenced by his friends to take up criminology.

He said, “Nadala lang po ng barkada. Later on, nag-enjoy. Minahal na lang din.”

Regardless, Alden graduated from Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College in General Santos City, South Cotabato, with Latin honors.

Alden shared that while he enrolled in a review center, he had a very tough time with the licensure exam. He even said in jest that he simply guessed most of his answers and that his performance was only “tsamba.”

Host Jose Manalo asked him, “Mga ilang percent yung nahulaan mo?”

The topnotcher replied while laughing, “Nasa fifty percent, Sir. Tsamba.”

When he found out that he ranked third, he and his family couldn’t believe it. He said he comes from a humble family that was only looking forward to him passing the exam.

“Nagulat po sila kasi hindi nila inasahan na magta-top ako. Gusto lang nila makapasa ako. Simpleng tao lang at sa awa ng Diyos nakapasa,” he added.

He admitted that since he graduated as a cum laude, the expectations for him at school were high, but since it was a board exam, his family didn’t expect too much.

“Expected talaga na mag-excel ka talaga sa school, pero pag national level, hindi nila medyo inaasahan,” he said.

Alden said his motivation to study hard was to help his family because they were in deep debt. He is now looking forward to his career as a law enforcement officer, and despite being a top performer, he wishes to begin as a patrolman.

“Marami kasi kaming utang, lubog kami sa utang noong panahong iyon. Kaya blessing na din tong opportunity na to para maiahon ko ang pamilya ko sa kahirapan,” he added.
