In an interview, Wilfredo admitted they are having a difficult time accepting the fate of Sheen. He couldn't but question his faith in the death of his daughter.

"Bakit sa ganitong paraan ka kinuha sa amin ng Panginoon?" he asked.

"Mahal na mahal ko ang anak ko," he cried.

Sheen had big dreams of becoming a doctor and serving the country. Their family's hometown is in Pagadian City but they eventually moved to Davao City, where Sheen grew up.

Wilfredo revealed that Sheen wasn't supposed to be the nurse on the said flight. The assigned nurse took a leave because her child got sick, so Sheen was given the assignment.

Prior to the flight, Sheen informed her father that they were having a few problems with their flight but it eventually pushed through at 4:00 in the morning.

The military transport plane was carrying 96 passengers and crew before it crashed in Sulu. The majority of the passengers were new privates of the Philippine Army who were supposed to be deployed in Sulu.

Meanwhile, 47 survived and sustained injuries from the accident.

Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief Gen. Cirilito Sobejana said the aircraft "missed the runway while trying to regain power" as it was landing at an airport in Jolo around noon.
