While the Philippines already booked a ticket to the 2021 FIBA Asia tournament on Wednesday, breaking the 'Korean curse', the young guns showed their passion and motivation to complete the assignment on a winning note, grabbing 6-0.

Gilas is coming off a dominant win versus Southeast Asian rival Indonesia on Friday.

Dwight Ramos spearheaded the team with 19 points and three rebounds.

Kai Sotto, RJ Abarrientos and Jordan Heading delivered the goods as well with 10 points each.

On the other hand, South Korea was led by Ricardo Ratliffe with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Korea was also qualified for the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 set in Indonesia in August for ranking second, 4-2, in the Group A leaderboard.

The top two teams join Lebanon, Bahrain, Iran, Kazakhstan, Jordan, and Syria as teams to have qualified through the first ever Asia Cup Qualifiers while Indonesia is also qualified as host of the event.

This leaves 7 spots that will be still up for grabs for the premier event.

The remaining spots will be secured through the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifying Tournament format for third-ranked teams.
