MANILA, Philippines – A young man nearly died after getting pranked by his friends at a swimming pool. The fun outing nearly ended in tragedy. What’s worse, the other guys have not visited him at the hospital, prompting his outraged family to call them out for doing this to him and not even supporting him when he’s at the brink of death.
In the CCTV footage taken at a resort, later identified as the Sarminian Inland Resort in Rosario, Agusan del Sur, a group of young guys could be seen horsing around by the swimming pool.
As shown in the clip, the group decided to spin one of their friends to make him dizzy as part of a prank. It is common knowledge that spinning in that manner could result in the person becoming dizzy and disoriented afterwards. Many often slump forward and are unable to move or stand up or even walk for a short while.
For sure, these young men knew that such a thing would happen. In fact, the victim who was later identified as Ralph Agramon could be seen falling to one side after being spun numerous times. Instead of stopping, however, the guys simply helped him back to the spot and spun him some more.
At this point, Ralph was obviously so dizzy and disoriented but the group continued laughing at his expense. One of them was even filming the prank.
The group was not content with seeing their friend having a hard time standing up due to disorientation. Instead of helping him out, they pushed him towards the pool!
They laughed as they saw him struggle to swim. He was obviously disoriented and having a hard time knowing in which direction he should move. But moments later, he went down and never surfaced again. The guys continued laughing, thinking it was part of the young man’s antics.
It took them several moments to realize that something was wrong. They jumped into the pool but because it was deep, they were not able to immediately find his body. Several more minutes passed before other people in the resort realized that there’s something going on at the pool. A number of adults jumped in to help in the search.
By the time Ralph was found, he was already unconscious. Ralph’s aunt Razel Yorsua Valdez later thanked Jay Bastida Gaviola for his efforts in trying to revive the young man. He never gave up until Ralph was revived.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and is now recovering from his injuries. Razel angrily slammed her nephew’s friends for doing this to him and for not even visiting him at the hospital while he’s fighting for his life.
