MANILA, Philippines – Veteran showbiz reporter and host Cristy Fermin revealed that "It's Showtime" Director Bobet Vidanes has left ABS-CBN to transfer to Brightlight Productions, a blocktimer on TV5.
According to Cristy, it's "confirmed" that Direk Bobet already tendered his resignation from the network and bid farewell to the noontime show.

Cristy recalled how Direk Bobet started in ABS-CBN as an audio man then cameraman until he married the network's executive Cory Vidanes. The couple had three children but eventually separated. It was then he started directing shows on ABS-CBN. "Ang simula ng katuparan ng kanyang mga pangarap ay nag-ugat sa ABS-CBN," Cristy stressed.
Cristy went on to share how she saw Direk Bobet and the 'It's Showtime' team worked hard to make their show last for more than a decade. "Hawak kamay sila, walang iwanan," she said.
The radio entertainment host disclosed that Direk Bobet's reason for leaving is because ABS-CBN allegedly cut down their salary and implemented many strict regulations. "Ang dahilan umano ay kinaltas ang kanyang sweldo at napakarami na raw pinagbabawal ang ABS-CBN ngayon," Cristy said.
Cristy expressed her disappointment over Direk Bobet's decision to leave and talked about "utang na loob." She said Direk Bobet achieved his dreams because of ABS-CBN and when the network faces challenging times, talents like Direk Bobet easily turned their backs on it.
According to Cristy, the hosts and production team of It's Showtime already had a meeting with Cory Vidanes about Direk Bobet's resignation. They are now looking for a new director to lead the show.
In another revelation, Cristy also recalled the controversy involving Direk Bobet and Willie Revillame. She said that when Direk Bobet was having problems with his then wife, Cory, he lived with Willie. According to Cristy, Direk Bobet and Willie were such good friends but for a reason she cannot reveal, the director turned his back on his friend too.
"Pero alam ko kung paano niya pinalabas na pagkasama-sama ni Willie Revillame. Nag-away sila ni Miss Cory Vidanes, kay Willie pa siya nakitira. Tumira siya ng matagal na panahon kay Willie, pero nung nagkabati na sila, si Willie pa ang nagmukhang masama," Cristy disclosed.
In Cristy's continued confession, she said it's true that ABS-CBN had to cut down on their talents’ salaries. Meanwhile, the Brightlight Productions, which is under Albee Benitez has offered a rate which she described as "walang pinagbago, bago magpandemiya."
Brightlight Productions currently is on a blocktime deal with TV5. Some of the Kapamilya talents who are now under them are Billy Crawford, Korina Sanchez-Roxas, Ted Failon, Maja Salvador, DJ Chacha, Beauty Gonzales, Dimples Romana and many others.
