Jobless man arrested for allegedly stealing P270 worth of meat

MANILA, Philippines – A 28-year old jobless man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly stealing frozen and and marinated pork from a convenience store in Ligid-Tipas, Taguig.

The authority identified the suspect as Jeffrey Cayanan of Barangay Tuktukan.

Southern Police District reported Cayanan was chased by the store crew after he left with the items worth P270 unpaid.

The store crew was monitoring the surveillance video at round 7:10 p.m. when the suspect was grabbing food out of the freezer and leaving the store hurriedly.

He was captured with the help of two barangay police.

Recovered evidence were 500 grams of pork shoulder and 500 grams of skewered pork barbecue.

The suspect was brought to Substation 5 in Tipas and was transferred to Taguig City Police headquarters. He will be facing complaint of theft.
