Among the recommendations is the extension of the ECQ for up to two weeks, or until the end of May, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said in a press briefing.

The second recommendation of the region's 17 mayors is to place the National Capital Region (NCR) into general community quarantine (GCQ).

The third option is the modified GCQ, where local government units are allowed to impose a lockdown on a specific barangay or zone if needed.

Garcia said high-risk areas will remain in ECQ while areas with low cases of infections will graduate into GCQ.

“Wala pong naging unanimous decision only unanimous suggestions," MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago said.

The recommendations will be submitted to Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IAT-EID), who will finalize the decision and for approval of President Rodrigo Duterte.

As of Saturday, the country has reported 10,610 COVID-19 cases, including 1,842 recoveries and 704 fatalities.
