MANILA, Philippines – Sarah Geronimo's bodyguard Jerry Tamara had initially asked for P1.5 million in damages but finally settled for P200,000.
It can be recalled that Tamara had accused Matteo Guidicelli of punching his throat when an altercation occurred during the actor's wedding with the Popstar Princess. Tamara said Guidicelli got angry when he informed Geronimo's mother, Mommy Divine the whereabouts of her daughter.
Guidicelli had denied the accusations and said he never punched anyone.
Tamara sought the help of Raffy Tulfo after he said Guidicelli embarrassed him in front of many people and continued to deny it. Tulfo intervened and spoke with Viva Entertainment's big boss Vic del Rosario Jr regarding the issue.
The two camps agreed to meet inside Viva's office as Tulfo accompanied Tamara. After a close door meeting, Boss Vic revealed that Tamara tried to seek P1.5 million in damages. He rejected and offered P100,000 in settlement. Tamara turned down Viva's offer.
Days after, Tulfo sought an update on Tamara's predicament but initially didn't get a response. It was Viva who confirmed that Tamara already accepted their offer of P200,000.
Boss Vic told Tulfo that he hopes the issue is now settled as it has affected Sarah. He said, "Sana maayos na ito Raffy kasi si Sarah ang naapektuhan diyan, e. Siyempre, pati problema sa nanay niya hindi pa naayos, tapos ito pa."
Tamara eventually replied and confirmed with Tulfo that he has agreed to settle with Viva. In a text message, he said, "Good morning, Sir Raffy. Una po sa lahat gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa lahat ng nagawang tulong niyo po sakin. Nais ko lang po ipabatid na nagkaayos na po kami ng Viva kagabi. Pasensya na po sir at magulo po ang isip ko kagabi. Natatakot na kasi ang asawa ko at pamilya ko. Sorry po talaga."
