MANILA, Philippines – She ran barefoot as she competed with other runners, but one young athlete proved that one can still win the race without shoes on – and she even won three golds!

For Rhea Bullos of Balasan, Iloilo in central Philippines, the fact that she didn’t have shoes was not a hindrance for her to run the race in the Iloilo Schools Sports Council Meet. Instead of taking pity on her situation or belittling herself for not having any shoes, this young girl thought it would be a good idea to create makeshift ‘Nike’ shoes from brown cloth surgical tape.

Using the tape, the young girl wrapped it carefully around her feet, while making sure to wrap the toes individually so that she could still be sure of her footing and won’t lose her balance as she ran on the track. Obviously a fun-loving girl, the young athlete had a good time creating the ‘Nike’ shoes as she put the brand’s trademark check logo at the front and the “NIKE” name at the sides.

Nike is definitely not going to sue her for copyright infringement on these shoes! In fact, a lot of netizens are actually hoping that the brand would listen and give this girl a pair of shoes. After all, she was already giving the brand free advertisement. Plus, she’s also an impressive runner who used her makeshift ‘Nike’ shoes to run three races!

Amazingly, despite having makeshift shoes, Rhea was able to take home the gold for the three events she joined. Considering the far distance of the events she ran (400m, 500m, and 800m), it is easy to see that this girl is a promising star in this sport!

If she could win three golds with those makeshift “Nike” shoes, just imagine how many more she could with a real pair! Congratulations and good luck to you, Rhea…

  1. Yellow metal coins have no numismatic value, which means they cannot achieve additional values based on rarity, demand, or condition, they are simply valued for their gold content - no more, no less. Those who wish to purchase them for investment enjoy the flexibility of these coins as they are able to be stored, transported, circulated, and invested without problems, as bullion coins adhere to a specific quality per ounce of gold, which is what makes them such simplistic and ideal investments for those who wish to purchase precious metal coins for investment. rs gold
