MANILA – The US Embassy in the Philippines is looking for a registered nurse.

The US Mission in Manila is accepting applications for the position of Registered Nurse in the Medical Unit (MED).

The hired applicant will be assigned in the US Embassy in Manila and will serve as the post's nurse.

Duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities include attending to the medical care of the employees and their eligible family members, following the Embassy's approved clinical guidelines. The hired applicant will also be responsible for the maintenance as well as the inventory of all medical equipment and supplies.

He/she will also implement several health education programs, including vaccination programs and emergency contingency planning.

He/she will be working in the Embassy's Medical Unit and under the direct supervision of the Regional Medical Officer (RMO) or Medical Provider (MP).

Hired applicants must be willing to work within 4 weeks of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications.

The vacancy is for a full-time position with a working schedule of 40 hours per week.

Benefits and compensation

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Manila may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation and other benefits.

The annual salary is for the registered nurse position at P770,568 or approximately P64,214/ month. A pay plan will be discussed personally with the Human Resources.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: Two years of post-qualification work as a professional nurse is required.

EDUCATION: Completion of bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. (Attached a copy of Transcript of Records and/or Diploma if available).

LANGUAGE: Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Writing English and Tagalog language is required. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have a solid working knowledge of MED’s RN Clinical Practice Guidelines and be familiar with American Nursing Standards of Care. Must possess and maintain a valid nursing license or a current unrestricted Registered Nursing license from the host nation, country of origin, or the U.S.

Copy of Orders/Assignment Notification (or equivalent) - For Eligible Family Members (EFMs)

Residency and/or Work Permit - For U.S. citizens with dual citizenship, or Third-Country National (TCN)

Current unrestricted Registered Nursing license - Failure to upload the said requirement will mark an application as ineligible.
