MANILA, Philippines – Yamyam Gucong was proclaimed the Ultimate Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Otso at the grand finals night held at the AATF Sports Complex, Malagasang Road in Imus, Cavite on Sunday, August 4.
The 25-year-old who was dubbed the "Iskulit Bai of Bohol" garnered a whopping 58.52 percent of the total number of public votes.
Yamyam will take home P2,000,000, a condominium unit from Suntrust Properties, Inc., and a travel package worth P300,000 from Jag Jeans.
"Sobrang saya ko po ngayon...napatunayan ko na kahit na may kahirapan, kaya natin bumangon sa buhay," Yamyam emotionally expressed after his grand entrance as Big Winner.
Meanwhile, "Singing Surfer ng La Union" Kiara Takahashi finished in second place after receiving 30.29 percent of the total number of public votes. She will receive P500,000 and a condominium unit.
“The Rampa Sister of Mandaluyong” Lou Yanong placed third with 8.28 percent of votes, while “Amazing Alo-Hunk ng Hawaii” Andre Brouillette placed fourth, with 2.91 percent of votes. The will get P300,000 and P200,000, respectively.
Pinoy Big Brother Otso, which premiered on November 10, 2018, broke the record in terms of having the biggest pool of housemates in the history of the Big Brother franchise at 58. This is the longest season of Pinoy Big Brother, reaching 267 days surpassing the record of Lucky 7 by 235 days.
