MANILA, Philippines – Classes have been suspended in several areas on Monday, August 5, 2019 due to southwest monsoon (Habagat) being enhanced by Tropical Storm Hanna (Lekima).
In the severe weather bulletin released at 11:00 pm today, PAGASA said that light to moderate with at times heavy monsoon rains will be experienced over the northern portion of Palawan (including Calamian and Cuyo Islands) and Mindoro provinces on Monday, August 5.

In addition, cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, the rest of MIMAROPA, and Visayas.

PAGASA added that 'Bagyong Hanna' remains less likely to make landfall on any part of the country.
There are no areas under tropical cyclone warning signals as of press time.
According to the automatic class suspension guideline by DepEd, the local government units (LGUs) have the authority to declare local suspensions in areas where there is no storm signal.
