Duterte wants to work with official who will support him

In an interview earlier, President Duterte said his selection of candidates was based on best interest of the public and the government.

“Ang selection ko talaga is based on what is to the best interest of the public and government. Iyon lang. Wala akong hinihingi na iba,” Duterte said during a PDP-Laban campaign rally.

Duterte said he is hoping to fulfill all his campaign promises before his term ends, with the support of officials whom he trusts.

Among those promises are the anti-drug campaign, restoring law and order and elimination of corruption.

“These are the guys who stayed long enough to know the art of governance and just to be honest, that’s all. Iyan lang naman ang hinihingi ko,” Duterte said referring to his PDP-Laban bets.

“It’s very hard to really develop kung walang law and order. Kung walang law and order and everything…everybody is in a quandary, anong gagawin niya? I mean, I think [we are] being swallowed by the biggest threat of them all and that is the drug problem,” he added.
