Car owner and friends chase after stolen car in heart-stopping movie-like scene

Many of us love to watch movies or YouTube videos and enjoy the thrill of watching cops (or the owners) chase after the carnapper to get back the vehicle. But if your car got stolen, would you dare do this as well?

That’s a difficult question to ask – especially because there’s always this chance that the carnappers have guns! But when confronted with the same situation, a group of friends threw caution to the wind and chased after the guy! Whoa.

Steve Wolf shared videos and photos of the confrontation with the carnapper in the movie-like scene that a lot of netizens followed on his Facebook account.

He shared that his friend’s car, a brown Suzuki Ciaz was rented by a guy named Renato Cervantes to go to Pampanga. After the rental period ended, he extended the contract. He kept extending the rent that the owner grew suspicious and asked him to return the car; when he refused, the owner went to the police to report the theft which fell under the rent-tangay modus.

Ten days after the car was stolen, the owner was getting desperate because the cops still had no update on her vehicle. She asked her friends, including Steve, if they could just go around the city to try and find the car. The vehicle didn’t have a GPS tracker.

Amazingly, fate was on their side that night. They found their vehicle bumper-to-bumper with the stolen Ciaz! The driver was trying to find a parking spot at the vicinity of a bar.

Thinking this is their best chance to get the car back, they tailed the vehicle. But the driver would soon take notice that they were following close behind and swiftly drove away! They gave chase – even without police backup! The owner already wanted to get off the vehicle but they advised that they should try corner the car at a place where there were a lot of people.

When the car was trapped at a traffic stop, they immediately got off their vehicle and confronted the guy behind the wheel! But he tried to hit the owner with the car, Steve claimed; though this was not caught on camera as he had been helping his friend out and was not filming at the time.

The owner made a scene, shouting that the vehicle was hers and it had been carnapped. Thankfully, people helped them and called the cops.

What’s ironic about the whole thing is that when they confronted the guy, he was eating popcorn – like this whole thing was just some movie he was watching, Steve mused.

The guy behind the wheel wasn’t the original renter/thief; he claimed that the vehicle was pawned to him. The owner and the cops were not buying his excuse, however, because he was not able to produce papers of the rental transaction and the owner had all the papers to prove that the vehicle was hers!

Thankfully, this movie-like scene had a happy ending but many netizens (including Steve) warned against chasing after your stolen car because the crooks might have a gun and you’d end up not just losing your car but also your life!
