Manila, Philippines - The much-awaited 'Parade of Stars' of the eight (8) official entries for the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) happens today, December 22, 2013 at the SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City around 2pm and ends at the Quirino Grandstand, Manila. The official entries to MMFF 2013 are 10,000 Hours, Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy, Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel, Pagpag, San Pedro Calungsod Batang Martir, Boy Golden: The Arturo Porcuna Story, Kaleidoscope World and My Little Bossings.

Two days before the 'Parade of Stars', Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino, who is also the MMFF Committee advised that they were already prepared for this big event.

Meanwhile, Tolentino announced that the awards night is scheduled on Friday, December 27, or two days after the opening of MMFF 2013. The ceremony will be held at Meralco Theatre, Pasig City.

MMFF is an annual film festival of pure Filipino-produced movies that runs from December 25 (Christmas Day) until the first week of January. It was founded way back December 1974 and being handled by MMDA.

"By virtue of Metro Manila Commission Executive Order No. 86-09, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation Nos. 1459, 1485, 1533, 1533-A and 1647, the MMFF is held during the Christmas Season in recognition of the role of the film industry in providing artistic depictions of both this country's stories and history. ", MMDA-MMFF official website says.

"An Executive Committee, headed by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman and composed of key members of the film industry, supervises this annual event.", the statement added.
