MANILA, Philippines – When the results of the January 2026 Architecture Licensure Examination (ALE) were released, Kenneth Marlan Lingat did not just earn the title “architect.”

He fulfilled a dream that had long been shared by his entire family.

His parents now literally beam with pride over their newly licensed architect son.

What began as a lighthearted joke at home soon turned into a grand public declaration of triumph.

In an interview on “State of the Nation” of GMA Network, Kenneth recounted how he and his parents once teased each other about putting up a billboard if he passed the board exam.

“Sabi ko, kapag pumasa ako, maganda kung malaki 'yong tarpaulin ko,” Kenneth shared with a laugh.

What was meant to be playful banter became reality. True to their word, his parents had a large tarpaulin printed and displayed; an unmistakable symbol of celebration and gratitude.

The gesture was even more meaningful considering that both of his parents are battling health conditions. Despite their physical challenges, they found a way to honor their son’s milestone in the biggest way possible.

The billboard quickly caught attention online, drawing mixed reactions from netizens. But for Kenneth, the noise does not matter.

He shrugs off the bashers and focuses instead on what truly counts: the joy on his parents’ faces.

For him, the billboard is not about vanity or spectacle. It is a testament to perseverance, sacrifice, and familial love.

It stands as a public reminder of countless sleepless nights, unwavering parental support, and a promise fulfilled.

More than a professional title, Kenneth’s success represents gratitude made visible; proof that dreams, when shared and nurtured by family, become victories everyone can proudly claim.

Congratulations, Kenneth!
