Manila, Philippines - Eight countries advance to the Quarter-Finals of FIBA Asia 2013 Championship with match-ups set today, August 9, 2013 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City. There's no more second chances on their race to Semi-Finals round tomorrow and the Championship (Finals) on Sunday, August 11.

Iran, Jordan, Chinese Taipei, China, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Korea and Qatar topped the second round and qualified on the quater-finals.
The host country, Philippines will do a head-to-head battle again with Kazakhstan at 8:30 pm. Smart Gilas Pilipinas topped Group E of the Second Round of the 27th FIBA Asia.
These two teams met in an exhibition game two weeks ago with Gilas Pilipinas team winning, 92-89, but Filipino coach Chot Reyes discounted any edge that win brings.
