MANILA, Philippines — Classes in some areas and schools have been suspended on Monday, October 5, 2026, in observance of National Teachers’ Day.
Note: DepEd clarified that there is no nationwide suspension of classes on October 5 and 6, 2026, contrary to information circulating on social media. While some local government units (LGUs) have announced class suspensions in their respective areas, the public is urged to rely only on official DepEd channels for announcements regarding basic education.
This list will be updated as more official announcements are issued by local or national authorities.
Calabarzon
- Laguna – No classes in all public schools; administrators of private schools will decide if they have classes
- Batangas
- Bauan – no face-to-face classes, all levels, public and private
- Lobo – no face-to-face classes, all levels, public and private
- Padre Garcia – no face-to-face classes, preschool to senior high school, public and private
- Rosario – no face-to-face classes, all levels, public and private
- San Juan – No face-to-face classes, all levels, public and private schools; shift to Modular Distance Learning (MDL) or Blended Learning
- San Pascual – no face-to-face classes, preschool to senior high school, public and private
- Cavite
- Cavite – classes, all levels, public and private
Central Luzon
- Nueva Ecija
- Laur – no classes in all levels for public schools
Cagayan Valley
- Isabela
- Roxas – no classes in all levels, public and private schools
Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)
- Abra – no classes at all levels, public and private schools
Ilocos Region
- Pangasinan
- Mabini – no classes in all levels for public schools, suspension of classes for private schools are upon the discretion of its management
Negros Island Region
- Negros Occidental – no classes at all levels, public and private schools
- Negros Oriental – no classes at all levels, public and private schools
Caraga
- Butuan City – No classes in all public elementary and secondary schools
SOCCSKSARGEN
- Lebak, Sultan Kudarat – No classes at all levels, public and private schools
Zamboanga Peninsula
- Zamboanga City – all levels, public and private; due to high heat index
Schools
- Silliman University – No classes at all levels; University offices will remain open for regular operations
National Teachers’ Month 2026
