MANILA, Philippines – The release of the August 2026 Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination (MELE) results has been delayed, with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) now targeting their release this week, August 13 or 14.
The PRC Rating Division told The Summit Express in an interview that the delay was caused by disruptions in government operations due to the effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
The results were originally scheduled for release on Wednesday, August 12, according to PRC Resolution No. 2113, series of 2025, or three working days after the examinations.

The MELE was conducted on August 7, 8, and 9, 2026, in Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.
The examinations proceeded as scheduled despite inclement weather affecting several parts of Luzon.
The delay came amid disruptions in government operations brought about by heavy rainfall associated with the Southwest Monsoon.
On August 10, Malacañang ordered work-from-home arrangements in government offices and alternative learning modes in schools in the National Capital Region (NCR) and 15 provinces due to continued heavy rainfall.
Under Memorandum Circular No. 123, the PRC announced that all its offices and service centers in NCR, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Zambales, Bataan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Benguet, Pangasinan, Abra, Tarlac, Pampanga, Oriental Mindoro, and Bulacan would implement work-from-home arrangements on August 10.
The arrangement was implemented upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) in anticipation of continued heavy rainfall brought by the Southwest Monsoon.
With the original release date already passed, MELE examinees are now awaiting the official results, which the PRC is targeting to release within the week.
