Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon and Visayas
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect Luzon and the Visayas, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Western Visayas, and several other areas, PAGASA said in its 4:00 p.m. weather bulletin on Sunday, July 12.
The weather bureau warned that moderate to heavy rains may trigger flash floods and landslides, especially in flood- and landslide-prone areas.
Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon and the Visayas may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon. Mindanao will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.
As of 2:00 p.m. Sunday, PAGASA is also monitoring Low Pressure Area (LPA 07a) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). The LPA has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Typhoon "Bavi" (formerly "Inday") has already exited the PAGASA monitoring domain. It left the weather bureau's monitoring area at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
