MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 27, will feature a simple yet dignified program, with no celebrity directors or star-studded performances, Malacañang said.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said preparations for the annual address are ongoing in coordination with the House of Representatives, which will host the event at the Batasang Pambansa Complex.

"Ang gagawin lang natin sa gagawing SONA ay simple lamang po at wala pong celebrity directors or mga big A-listers na magpe-perform," Castro said during a Palace press briefing.
She said the administration wants the event to reflect the solemnity and significance of the President's constitutional duty to report to the Filipino people.
"Simple lang pero dignified ang gagawin pong pagsasagawa po ng isang national event katulad po ng SONA," Castro added.
Castro also announced that the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chorale has been selected to perform the Philippine national anthem during the SONA.
She added that the entire program will be directed by Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM), underscoring the administration's goal of keeping the annual event straightforward and focused on the President's address.
When asked about the progress of the President's speech, Castro declined to reveal specific details but said preparations are well underway.
President Marcos is scheduled to deliver his fifth SONA before a joint session of Congress on July 27. The annual address will serve as his report to the Filipino people on the administration's accomplishments over the past year while outlining its priorities and legislative agenda for the remainder of his term.
