MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya singer-actress Angeline Quinto has added another milestone to her long list of achievements after earning her college degree at the age of 36, fulfilling a promise she made to her late adoptive mother, Mama Bob.

Quinto graduated from Immaculada Concepcion College in Caloocan City on June 16 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management.

The singer shared the achievement through a series of posts on her Instagram Stories, where she dedicated the milestone to her late mother, who played a crucial role in shaping her life and career.

“To my best guardian angel in heaven, Mama, this is all for you,” Quinto wrote.

“As I have always promised, I will continue to make you proud, Mama,” she added.

The accomplishment carried special meaning for the singer, who has often spoken about the sacrifices made by Mama Bob, who passed away in November 2020 after a series of hospitalizations.

While Quinto has spent the last decade as one of the country's most recognizable singers, she quietly pursued higher education away from the public eye while balancing her career, family life, and academic responsibilities.

Earlier this year, during her contract signing with One Music Management and Star Music, Quinto revealed that she had intentionally kept her studies a secret from her family and even her husband, hoping to surprise them upon graduation.

“Hindi alam ng family ko and asawa ko… Ang pagtupad ng pangarap walang pinipiling edad. Kahit wala na si Mama Bob, itinuloy ko pa rin ang pangarap,” she said.

The graduation ceremony became even more memorable when Quinto performed her hit song Patuloy ang Pangarap, a fitting tribute to her own journey of perseverance and determination.

Joining her in celebrating the milestone were her husband, Nonrev Daquina, and their two children, Sylvio and Sylvia.

Quinto rose to fame after winning the reality singing competition Star Power: Sharon's Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar in 2011 and eventually became known as the “Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs.”

Her latest achievement serves as a reminder that dreams can be pursued at any stage in life, proving that success is not defined by age but by the determination to keep moving forward despite life's challenges.

As she celebrates her graduation, Quinto is also preparing for her 15th anniversary concert, AQUIN5E, scheduled on August 22 at the Araneta Coliseum.
