Transport group PISTON is set to stage nationwide protests on March 19 in response to the continued fuel price hikes linked to tensions in the Middle East.
“Ngayong darating na March 19, idedeklara at ilulunsad natin ito hindi lamang sa National Capital Region kundi sa buong bansa,” said PISTON national president Mody Floranda during a press conference.
The group also criticized the government’s P5,000 cash assistance for affected drivers and operators, saying the amount is insufficient and may only cover a few days’ worth of fuel expenses.
