MANILA, Philippines — Five candidates who completed the 2025 Bar Examinations were disqualified after failing to submit the necessary documents, Supreme Court Bar Chairperson Associate Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier confirmed.

5 Bar Exam finishers disqualified for failing to submit documents

According to Lazaro-Javier, the five examinees “were not able to comply with the requirements,” reducing the total number of recorded examinees from 11,425 to 11,420.

“Documents were not submitted,” Lazaro-Javier said during a press briefing on Wednesday, January 7.

She explained that while the candidates were allowed to take the exams, their answers were “taken but not checked” due to missing application documents.

The Bar chair noted that the Supreme Court tried to accommodate late submissions, even after the exam period had ended, but some candidates still failed to meet the requirements.

“Alam mo, we have to be kind to them. Sometimes their problem is time constraint. So, bibigyan mo sila ng time kahit na nag-e-exam na sila,” she added.

The 2025 Bar Examinations were held on September 7, 10, and 14. On the first day, Lazaro-Javier reported that out of 13,193 admitted examinees, only 11,437 actually took the exams.

By the end of the three-day examinations at 14 testing centers nationwide, 11,425 examinees had completed all sessions. However, with the disqualification of the five candidates for missing documents, the final official count of examinees stands at 11,420.
