MANILA, Philippines – Classes and government work on Monday, September 1, 2025, have been cancelled in Metro Manila and several areas due to heavy rains expected from a low-pressure area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon.
In a Facebook post early Monday, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla said classes in all levels, both public and private, and work in government offices in the following areas are suspended on Monday.
This list of class suspensions will be updated as soon as local or national authorities make their advisories.

"Mga Abangers, Medyo huli ang paalam. Ayon sa NDRRMC, malakas ang ulan sa mga sumusunod na lugar. Ayon din sa parehong report, possible ang baha sa mga sumusunod na lugar, NCR, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan," DILG said.
State weather bureau PAGASA said the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 570 km East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 695 km East of Daet, Camarines Norte as of 3:00 p.m. today.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon affecting sections of Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and the northern section of Mindanao.
