Track and Intensity Outlook
- Opong is forecast to move west-northwestward toward the Eastern Visayas–Southern Luzon area.
- It may either pass close to Northern Samar or make landfall over the Bicol Region by Friday morning or early afternoon (September 26).
- The storm is expected to cross Southern Luzon throughout Friday before emerging over the West Philippine Sea by Saturday (September 27).
- Opong may intensify into a typhoon before landfall but will likely remain a typhoon or severe tropical storm as it crosses land.
- Re-intensification is highly probable once it reemerges over open waters.

Enhanced Habagat
The southwest monsoon (Habagat), enhanced by both Opong and Typhoon Nando, will bring strong to gale-force winds in several parts of Luzon and Visayas, particularly in coastal areas.
Preparedness Reminder
PAGASA advised residents in areas under storm signals to take precautionary measures against strong winds, heavy rainfall, flooding, and landslides. Fisherfolk and small seacraft are strongly urged to remain ashore due to rough sea conditions.
