MANILA, Philippines – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) opened on Wednesday, July 16, the online applications for their scholarship programs for school year 2025-2026.

Applications for Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) Category 2 and OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) Category 1 at 2 will run from July 16, 2025 until July 31, 2025.

What is Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)?

It is a scholarship grant to qualified dependents of OFWs consisting of a maximum of Php 60,000.00 per school year until the completion of a baccalaureate course (4-5 years).

General Qualifications

1. Must be a child of an active OWWA member; or sibling of a single or married but childless active OWWA member

2. Must have NO AVAILMENT of any OWWA Scholarship Program by other Members of the OFW Family

EDSP CATEGORY 2 (2nd to 5th year college student in SY 2025-2026)

  • Must be single
  • Must not be more than 30 years old
  • Must have a GWA of at least 85% or its equivalent
  • Must have no failing grades
  • Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college/university

The basic requirements to be submitted by the applicants upon application online are the following:

1. Proof of Identity
1.1 OFW - Copy of Valid OFW Passport Bio or Info Page
1.2 Dependent
1.2.1 Valid School I.D. or any available Valid I.D
1.2.2 Birth Certificate or Baptismal

2. Proof of grades from the previous School Year
(i.e. Form 137 or Form 10 [TOR], Form 138 or Report Card, or Certificate of Grades from the School)

3. 2x2 I.D. Picture of the OFW's Dependent (Child or Sibling Applicant)

Note: Valid grade requirements are SY 2024-2025 or SY 2023-2024 for the initial submission. It is expected that the final requirements will be submitted once confirmation is received from the OWWA Regional Welfare Office (RWO) where the application was filed.

What is OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)?

It is a scholarship program that offers financial assistance amounting to Php 20,000.00 per school year to qualified dependents of OFWs and who shall enroll, are currently enrolled or have been enrolled in any four-year or five-year baccalaureate course or associate course in any Philippine-based college or university.

The required monthly salary of the OFW shall be based on the guidelines specified in the memorandum to be issued by OWWA during the application period every school year.

ODSP CATEGORY 1 (Incoming 1st Year college student in SY 2025-2026)

  • Must be a child or sibling of an OFW Active member
  • Must be single
  • Must not be more than 21 years old
  • Must have a passing general weighted everage (GWA) from previous school year.

Must have a monthly OFW income not more than USD 1,000.00 or its equivalent.

Must have NO AVAILMENT of any OWWA Scholarship Program by other Members of the OFW Family.

The basic requirements to be submitted by the applicants upon application online are the following:

1. Proof of Identity
1.1 OFW - Copy of Valid OFW Passport Bio or Info Page

1.2 Dependent

  • Must be a child or sibling of an OFW Active member
  • Must be single
  • Must not be more than 30 years old
  • With a passing general weighted everage (GWA) from previous school year.
  • Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based College/University

Must have a monthly OFW income not more than USD 1,000.00 or its equivalent.

Must have NO AVAILMENT of any OWWA Scholarship Program by other Members of the OFW Family.
