MANILA, Philippines – Veteran actor Frederick Charles Caballes Davao, professionally known as Ricky Davao, has passed away at the age of 63, Viva Entertainment confirmed on Friday, May 2, 2025.
“Pahinga ka na, Sir Ricky,” the entertainment company wrote in a heartfelt tribute. “Ang aktor ay namayapa sa edad na 63,” it added.

According to reports, Davao had been battling a terminal illness since 2024.
Davao was previously married to actress Jackie Lou Blanco. The former couple shared three children: Arabella, Rikki Mae, and Kenneth.
With a prolific career spanning decades, Ricky Davao appeared in more than a hundred films. Among his notable works are Oki Doki Doc: The Movie, Ang Lalaki sa Buhay ni Selya, Bayaning 3rd World, and Hibla.
He earned critical acclaim for his performance in the 1998 film Saranggola, winning Best Actor honors from Gawad Urian, the Cinemanila International Film Festival, and the Star Awards for Movies.
His passing comes just weeks after the death of his former mother-in-law, “Asia’s Queen of Songs” Pilita Corrales, who died at 87 on April 12.
