In an exclusive interview with The Summit Express, Engr. Andres shared the story behind his unique name. According to him, it just so happened that both of his parents had the same surname—Andres. So, they decided to name him Andres as well.
“I believe it has something to do with my ancestors' names. Specifically, my grandfather on my father's side and my great-great-grandfather on my mother's side were both named Andres. That's what I was told when I was young. Since both of my parents' last names were Andres, choosing Andres as my first name might have been a thoughtful decision,” he said.
He completed his elementary education at Saviour's Christian Academy, attended Ilocos Norte National High School for his secondary education, and earned his college degree from Mariano Marcos State University, in Ilocos Norte.
He also benefited from his name.
“On my entire academic years, well, my name is easy to memorize and recall for many. Some find it funny, and unique, making it highly memorable. I’m also a very kind person, very approachable, and I have no bad blood to anyone. Hopefully they'll remember that name as my fellow classmates, teachers, friends, move on. And I think that's a benefit for me at some point,” he said.
Aside from being an engineer, Andres is also active on their blog page.
"’A3’ yan po yung pangalan ng page hehe. Magko-content din soon that would benefit the Electrical Community. Tatlo po kami diyan kaya A3 #ad,” he said.
Congratulations, Engr. (Andres)³!
