According to the latest study of analytics site Picodi.com, the average Filipino needs at least 68.8 working days to purchase Apple’s flagship iPhone 16 Pro 128 GB priced at P69,999.
It noted that the average wage in the Philippines is P21,400 net monthly, citing the latest data from Numbeo, a crowd-sourced cost-of-living database.
Although the Philippines maintained its #2 ranking from last year, the number of days needed to afford the iPhone has decreased significantly, dropping by nearly 10.7 days from 79.5 days last year.
The data from Picodi published its iPhone Index, a ranking of countries by comparing the average monthly income and the price of an iPhone. Considering the average monthly wage in the Philippines, the country ranks second among those who would find purchasing an iPhone particularly challenging. Turkey tops the list with the highest number of working days required to afford the flagship iPhone 16 Pro at 72.9 days. Last year, the country also led the list, with nearly a full year needed—123.7 days—to afford the iPhone.

Meanwhile, Switzerland is the country where people can most easily afford the flagship iPhone, needing just 4 working days to purchase it. It is followed by the United States, where it only takes 5 working days for Americans to be able to afford it.
Since 2018, Picodi.com has been releasing the Phone Index, an annual report on the price-to-wage ratios for iPhones.

Picodi uses the most recent average salary data from each country's statistics offices and websites. Net wages are calculated using salary calculators by dividing monthly wages by an average of 21 working days. For countries that use weekly rates, the calculation is based on 5 days. The resulting ratio is then compared to the official price of the iPhone 16 Pro (128 GB).
